Gerald R. (Jerry) Hubbell, b. 1960, is a Founding Member and VP of MSRO Science, Inc., Assistant Director of the Mark Slade Remote Observatory (MSRO). Hubbell has been an amateur astronomer since the 1970s, and has been part of Explore Scientific Engineering since 2013, where he serves as the developer and principal engineer for the PMC-Eight™ Robotic Mount Control System. 
 

As the leader of the MSRO Science team, he recently joined the NASA Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) Follow-up Working Group (TFOP WG) SG1 Seeing-Limited Group. With over 10 years of experience working with advanced amateur astronomical equipment, he has authored two books on scientific imaging and remotely operated observatories: "Scientific Astrophotography" (Springer 2012) and "Remote Observatories for Amateur Astronomers" (Springer 2015).

Still active with the nuclear utility industry, Jerry brings 40 years of experience as a nuclear instrumentation and controls, and computer systems engineer. He remains an active astronomer, focusing on high-resolution lunar imaging, minor planet observations, and the study of exoplanet transits.
